Live Independent Verifiable and reproducible Unpaywalled NASA-sourced

Astrophyzix Digital Observatory

Trusted for Asteroid News, Research, Data & Analysis

Delivering unpaywalled, evidence-driven analysis, public research tools, real-time datasets and monitoring and tracking of all PHA/NEO asteroids, comets and solar system objects.

Every tracking console is designed and engineered here. Systems directly ingest multiple NASA datasets covering over 1.57 million objects, then run live, verifiable probabilistic orbital analysis and deliver an instant deterministic summary of close approaches. Used by students, educators, researchers, and the public. Data provenance is traceable, verifiable and transparent. Original research papers are published on Astrophyzix.academia.edu, registered with official DOIs via Zenodo and academically indexed by OpenAIRE.

Platform Update Real-Time Astronomy Public Access Module

Introduction

Astrophyzix today announces the launch of the Global Observatory Viewer, a new real‑time module that consolidates publicly available livestreams from major observatories into a single, unified interface.

The Global Observatory Viewer does not operate its own telescope network. Instead, it provides a centralized, high‑reliability viewing environment for existing public feeds from world‑class facilities including the Subaru Telescope, the Canada–France–Hawaii Telescope (CFHT), ALMA, KISO Observatory, and several robotic telescopes across Europe and the Canary Islands.

The module is designed to give the public, educators, and astronomy enthusiasts a clear, coherent way to explore real‑time observatory activity without navigating multiple platforms, channels, or inconsistent interfaces.

A Single Interface for the World’s Public Observatory Feeds

The Global Observatory Viewer brings together a curated set of high‑quality livestreams, presenting them with consistent formatting, timestamps, and operational context.

Users can switch between observatories with one click and observe the live conditions that shape astronomical work.

live Observatory streams

At launch, the viewer includes:

  • Subaru Telescope (Maunakea, Hawaii) — Live operations feed from one of the world’s premier optical telescopes.
  • CFHT (Maunakea, Hawaii) — Continuous west‑sky view featuring domes, stars, and atmospheric conditions.
  • ALMA (Atacama Desert, Chile) — Southern‑sky feed from one of the highest and driest observatory sites on Earth.
  • KISO Observatory (Mount Ontake, Japan) — Dark‑sky camera with minimal light pollution.
  • VTP Italy — Robotic telescope providing event‑driven observations.
  • SLOOH (Tenerife) — Long‑established robotic observatory for public engagement.

All feeds remain the property of their respective institutions. Astrophyzix provides the viewer — not the streams.

Enhancing Public Access to Real‑Time Astronomy

The Global Observatory Viewer was developed to address a long‑standing gap in public astronomy: while many observatories offer livestreams, they are scattered across platforms, difficult to discover, and inconsistent in presentation.

By unifying these feeds into a single, stable interface, Astrophyzix aims to:

  • Improve accessibility
  • Support educators and outreach programs
  • Encourage scientific literacy
  • Provide a realistic view of observatory operations
  • Give observatories the visibility and recognition they deserve

The viewer includes a clear operational notice explaining that temporary feed interruptions are normal and reflect real‑world telescope behavior. When a feed goes offline, the viewer automatically reconnects when the stream resumes.
